Honestly Pete, does a lot of that have to do with Frazier barely scraping his top ten and the ridiculous exclusion of Marciano? His skills chart is original and cool, although the 'heart' rating for Tyson is preposterously low and the only way to push him lower.

That's a goddamned strong list. On any given day, that could be mine exactly.

You don't think Marciano is worthy of the top ten? Cox doesn't include him and cites opposition. Yet, Dempsey is comfortably present.

I meant it in the sense that he didn't have him in his top 10. Marciano has been as high as 5 recently in my lists (previously at 3) and it is disgusting that someone wouldn't have him in the top 10. Dempsey on the other had can eat my dick and I'd rather see Tunney in there over him. That Conx's list sounds about as bullshit as Burt Sugars's

That's not too bad, but there's some dramatic ratings in there in my eyes, gonna re do my list fiht now infact

1. Ali
2. Louis
3. Foreman
4. Holmes
5. Lewis
6. Marciano
7. Johnson
8. Frazier
9. Holyfield
10. Tyson

Normally I have Johnson 3-4 places higher, but I'll admit his resume is pretty weak. He was still years ahead of his time though and woulda beaten every heavyweight prime for prime up to Louis IMO, maybe Schmelling.

I used to have Foreman at No. 3 - and would probably still put him as high as five. He's got the demolitions of Frazier and Norton, and winning the title back 20 years after losing it in Zaire. Remarkable, though pretty much the entirety of his case. Lewis, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield all about double him up in terms of beating world-rated heavyweights. The former three all had better title reigns, while Holy's top wins give him a run.

My list wasnt based on H2H. Rather legacy, title reign, longevity and accomplishment/quality of opp.

Jack Johnson was by far the best heavyweight of his generation. He held the heavyweight championship for 7 years. There wasnt a prayer of anyone beating him so they ran him out of the country. He didnt lose the belt until he was 37 years old.

Im not sure what more he couldve done. Forget heavyweight he was one of the greatest boxers ever to lace them up.

You got Tyson, Holyfield and Holmes in your Top Ten.

That immediately makes it Valid.

I like the fact you don't base a lot of your lists on H2H, personally I try to avoid it as well. Just a thought though, if it's heavily based on accomplishments, surely being the only undefeated heavyweight champion (Marciano) and the oldest heavyweight champion (Foreman) would warrant a higher ranking for both men?
