I was a Khan fan, but his attitude and lack of discipline to use his jab and box and set up his punches is why he was knocked out last night. He will never be a really top fighter again. He has fought like this before. If he had only 1 fight where he lost by fluke punch then I would say ok he could be back. He lost 2 times by fluke punches and once with Peterson. I thought he should have beaten Peterson, but he swung in exchanges recklessly this same way, and was almost hit clean. I just do not understand how a guy with such wonderful handspeed cannot have the discipline and fundamentals to be as great as he could have been. He is like Jermaine Taylor. Fast hands but no fight plan.

Wow... look at all the nasty comments underneath this video... the steps he takes next will be crucial. If he boxed Garcia he could have won and or stopped him later on. Khan was just stupid to stand toe to toe for too long and deviated from the gameplan. Garcia will get beat I'm sure.... he's nothing special. |

I'll bounce back - Amir
I would like to thank all my fans and well wishers for the amazing support I've had from you since my defeat on Saturday night. Obviously the fight never went as planned but credit has to go to Danny Garcia who caught me with a good shot in the third round that I couldn't fully recover from. I guess that's boxing, where one punch can change everything, it's the reason so many fans love the sport. Many fighters down the years have bounced back from defeat to prove their greatness and that's exactly what I intend to do. I've never shirked any challenge or refused to fight anyone in my division even though it would have been easy for me to do so. Some may say that attitude is the wrong one to have but I've always wanted to please the fans and be involved in exciting fights because many of you pay good money to come and watch me, and it's only right that you get to see the best fighting the best, especially in an age when so many top fighters hand-pick opponents. I'm going to spend the next few weeks relaxing during Ramadan and recharging my batteries after what was a 16 week training camp for me. I'll then sit down with my team to assess the options in front of me. Well done to Danny Garcia on his performance, but I promise that I'll bounce back stronger than ever as I look to regain my spot at the top of the 140lb division. Amir Khan |

Who cares about Khan bouncing back, he can do what he wants when he wants.
There's other bigger and better fighters that deserve the attention of the boxing community. |

"Carl Froch suggesting that Amir retire is ridiculous. Carl Froch will never be able to capture the American audience the way Amir Khan is. His name barely registers among fight fans let alone sports fans. Amir Khan’s exciting style is what has earned him the respect of the U.S. fight fans." - Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.
^^ Tbh i thought Carl was upset with Khan cos he didn't get to carry to olympic torch lol. |

I really don't want to see a Freddy coached Khan fight again. I'm not going to suffer through rooting for him actively while all the while I have been wanting him with a new trainer.

Khan needs to sit his monkey ass down and really explore who and what he is in that square circle. He has great talent but hes not a scrapper, hes a boxer and he needs to start thinking when he fights. Garcia out thought Khan in that fight and made him pay. In every encounter, Garcia knew what punches he wanted to throw and why he wanted to throw them. If Khan refocus and be the matador with the killing sword, he will be a dominating force in boxing.
