Foreman also said that "James Toney is a puncher" , that Holyfield is d "#2 in his book" and a lot of shit . Not that he's d only 1 that talks shit .

No there was no fix, and no real foul play Foreman was overconfident and was baited by Ali into fighting the stupidest fight possible and lost.

Not fixed in the sense that Foreman took a dive, but that he was sabotaged by his own trainer: Dick Sadler.

Here are some claims that Foreman made in his book; By George:

1. Sadler had dehydrated Foreman for a couple of days before the fight. He told him it would "toughen him".
Immediately prior to the ring walk, Sadler had given Foreman water that tasted like it had medicine in it. Foreman had remarked on the odd taste to Sadler

2. Foreman said that after three rounds he felt like he had gone fifteen rounds.

3. During the fight, Sadler kept instructing Foreman to keep up the attack.
This was out of character with Sadler. He had always told Foreman to take his time and not hurry things.

4. Herbert Muhammad, Ali's manager, told Foreman that if he re-signed with Sadler, he'd get a rematch. Foreman said he refused.

5. Foreman said Sadler worked Ali's corner in the third Norton fight.

My feelings on this are mixed. I don't know whether to believe it or not.

We have a mix of Ali (who was not above benefiting from a fixed fight), Don King, a corrupt sport and a championship fight in a corrupt nation.

I'll file it away as likely but not proven.

NO........! NO........! NO.........!

Even allowing for differing opinions, anyone who claims that there WAS a fix,is just allowing their minds to fall prey to conspiracy theory laden complete and utter BOLLOCKS....!

Yes.

Muhammad Ali had 'no' fight plan versus George Foreman, and started laying on the
ropes becuase his legs went out early in the 2nd Round.

Then, by mistake, he found out that George's punches lost their steam by the 3rd Round.

Ali had the brain to realise that a major change in tactics was necessary. He managed to adapt...............with honours.

Yep ! Doped by Ali's punches.

Even n entire arsenal of smoking guns would not get d recognition that this fight was rigged . i think it's better 2 let d Ss here 2 keep enlightening each other . who knows ? this board might b filled with some referees and judges in some of Ali's fights , his attorney , family members and a few closet homo***uals whom he was a male model 2 .
And of course a few lowly paid journalists whom need something 2 write about . Don't try taking away from their future incomes , more books r on d way !
Every rigged fight in Ali's career is just a myth , he was d gr8est !

Watching Foreman not looking sharp in d ring in 1974 also made me wonder . some1 here claimed that later (post 1974) Saddler was witnessed near Ali's corner and that Ali's team demanded Saddler in Foreman's corner or else no rematch , IDK if it's true .
Still , i'm not totally convinced that Foreman was drugged but i believe in it more than b4 .
But even if he wasn't , d combination of D intentionally loosened ropes , D Heat , and Ali's being trained in order 2 exploit these 2 (he was trained on d rope a dope b4 d fight , it was not a real time , last moment accommodation)
and pay no attention 2 Mirena's screaming 2 Ali 2 get off d ropes and later claiming that it was dangerous 2 Ali because fact is he trained Ali 2 do it .
Mirena was a professional criminal , of d worst kind , d kind that evades d bars . What would u expect such a shrewd criminal 2 do ? scream 2 Ali 2 get on d ropes ? admit later that he told Ali during his training camp while working on d rope a dope with him 2 ignore his shouts about getting off d ropes during d fight ? I don't think that such deeds r even beyond d pedestrian intelligence of d posters here , but 4 their reasons they choose 2 ignore and dismiss it .
Angelo Mirena was a saint , he never had anything in common with d mafia and all his deeds were holy .
Angelo never cut Ali's glove b4/during d Cooper #1 fight and never handed him smelling salts 2 sniff during d Xtended break between rds either .
Someday , your grand grand grandchildren will pray 2 Santa Angelo at night , asking him 4 n under d table writings during n alarming test . They'll later come and visit his grave that will become a cathedral by then , d residence archibishop of d Italian New Yorkian church .
May Angelo bless your souls and god b with your deeds in hard times 2 come .

Foreman did not look up to par, and 'sluggish' even for Foreman the ropes and the count were always sketchy and the trainer makes the case even more peculiar...

Foreman looked as dangerous as ever in the first few rounds. He was the same guy who blitzed Frazier,Roman and Norton. Ali made him gas out.

Muhammad Ali

Defeating George Foreman -

The same man who couldn't make Ken Norton take a step backwards.

The same man who couldn't hurt Joe Bugner.

The same man who couldn't even put a dent in Rudi Lubbers.

The same man who took '14 1/2' Rounds to stop Chuck Wepner.
