Default David Price - Tales of Olympic Glory - has he capitalised?

The jury's still out on David Price. One thing that all can agree on is that he's a former Olympian who has gone on to establish a successful and possibly very promising career. When I say successful, I mean that his name is known and mostly favourably. Irrespective of how far Price goes, he's definitely earned some glory so far.

I'm still a little disappointed with his pro career so far. He's basically done the absolute minimum that could have been expected of him. The other bronze super heavy winner Glazkov is in the same boat.

He's done better than Detony Windmiller, who had the American hype machine driving him

Slow start but beginning to motor now

Price didn't seem that highly rated after the Olympics. He's definitely building up a name for himself now, but he's far too inactive. 13 fights since turning pro in 2008, and not fighting Audley til October. It's a shame he couldn't get the Fury fight, but he's one of the best HW prospects right now.

It's absolutely ridiculous how few fights he's had, and needing three months to prepare for Aud is laughable.

He should have sacked Mismatch and signed with Fast Eddie, or gone to Germany.

should sign with eddie, fight more frequent on matchroom undercards, learn his trade and be ready for world honours after 20 fights

Pretty much everyone on here said Price would fail at British level..he's done well so far but should have been moved along quicker and kept active, I cant believe he's staying with Maloney, I always thought Price was an intelligent guy, clearly not.

You are forgetting nobody was queuing to sign him, he needed Haye to sign, demise of Setamta and a few injuries really stalled the start of his career.

people need to realise when Price 1st turned pro he signed with Hayemaker, when that went bust his career stalled, for no reason of his own.i agree he could be more active but not many genuine hw out there want to fight him because of the way he blasting anything that is thrown in front of him. He has passed all his tests so far without a sweat, people say the opposition hasnt been great but the way he dismantled Big Mac and ***ton deserves some credit.Fury wants no part of him because he knows he loses every day of the week, the 2 Klitchsko's and Haye are the only people who beat Price at this moment in time.

Lets wait until the wind of a punch actually breezes past his chin before we start all this hyperbole

Well Glazkov had 6 fights fall apart last year including Peter and Platov ones so it hasn't really been his own fault but at least he has the Bakhtov and Oloukun wins both of which are European level gatekeepers and tough ones at that. Price has only fought UK level gatekeepers and needs to take that next step but i do think hes a quality propect.

Can't believe how few fights he's had. It's pretty much 4 years exactly since he turned pro, 13 fights in that time is absurd, especially considering the shocking standard of some of his opponents.

Everyone in the "Class of 08" has been woefully inactive really - DeGale has had 13 fights, Billy Joe Saunders has had 14, Frankie Gavin has had 13. Something went seriously wrong somewhere along the line with the lot of them.
