Ok, I can agree to that. Duran was still considered a very good fighter though. He had fought well vs. Hagler in his previous fight losing by close 15 round decision, he had yet to face Barkley and Leonard a third time among others.

Duran wasn't close to prime for that fight.. not sure how that is a good example. I think Whitaker vs. Chavez is better, and even then, Chavez wasn't prime but closer than Duran.

Points well made.I just feel he was so inconsistent and well above his prime weight at 154 and above.

true he was on the downside of his career but he had beat moore two fights before and then lost the decision to hagler and gave a good effort in that fight. styles make fights and hearns just obliterated him. it was hard to watch.

The real funny thing is the 2 guys who 'LOL'ed' at you didn't laugh out loud, they just got upset and angry so decided to vent their frustration by pretending to laugh |

Within 18 months dempsey destroyed flynn, morris, fulton, brennan and d flynn... So whilst he might not have been well in his prime, he certainly qualifies as near prime. |
