Gentlemen i thought last night was a great mixture of excitement and quality , some real excitement and some real quality
Swick's TKO ......... the finish was lethal , a well drilled TD from catching that kick and a very well placed right hand immediately after the TD , excellent execution after a tough tough first round where Johnson looked like the bully at times despite being hit often by the excellent Swick , Swick looked rusty on the feet during some of the close quarter exchanges but came through in the end Lauzon Varner , awesome !!!!! what more can be said , how good did Varner's boxing look ?? Lauzon showing he's evolving all the time , if you gas he'll give you a tough night , hung in there through some tough boxing exchanges where he was being picked apart at times , great JJ display again , great fight Machida Bader , Bader is a joke as was this match up , but never the less a cracking shot to finish the fight Shogun is over the hill clearly but still has heavy heavy hands , a big heart and a killer instinct , Vera is still pretty much irrelevant IMO

Was a really nice moment for Swick too. I didn't expect him to get the win at all, but the finish was terrific execution. He saw his chance and grabbed it. Beautiful takedown on the lazy body kick, he was just perfectly balanced the whole time and followed the guy to the ground superbly.
I also liked how you could tell he was genuinely ashamed and remorseful about the 2 extra punches he landed on an unconscious opponent. He's perfectly correct in saying that he was in fight mode, doing his best to get the win. But you can tell that when he watched the replay, he honestly felt like shit about it. ![]()
