I'm hoping with his Wrestling experiene he can survive going down, and murder on stand up... we need a prime boxer moving over and taking some heads to show Boxing>MMA

The small gloves are one thing but the bad punching is another.
These guys go down all of the time form sloppy punches.

The bad punching is a by product of their stance, which is squared up and more like a mix between Muay Thai & wrestling than boxing. That's why their punches are:

A) fairly wide
B) throw a lot of hooks and a lot of arm punches.

It's also why, at least from what I can tell, that their chins are in the air when they punch. They can't tuck it behind their lead shoulder like a classic boxer, or even a straight muay thai fighter would.

It's hard to throw a good, straight cross when your squared up and maintain your balance, it's hard to have an educated jab when your squared up as well. But, it's easier to sprawl and to protect your legs from attack.
