Like many others have said in the other thread absolutely no top professional will take a year outta their careers to box in the Olympics. You must be absolutely high if you think boxers like Donaire, Ward or Broner would forfeit their titles to box for a shit AIBA salary

I actually hope this plan goes ahead & fails miserably so Wu & all his corrupt cronies get kicked outta the IOC & AIBA gets completely re-structured

As mentioned in the other thread..

- For the 1st season only, APB will accept current professional boxers with limited terms and conditions
- APB boxers will be able to compete in the Olympic Games with limited terms and conditions

Current professional boxers eligibility for APB
- Current professional boxers who have a record of competing in AIBA events by representing AIBA National Federations
- Boxers who turned Pro within last 2 years
- Boxers who competed less than 10 or 15 bouts
- In exceptional cases, APB can consider to accept some boxers who can add much value to APB
- Total number of current professional boxers should be less than 20% of total APB boxers


APB Boxers Eligibility for the Olympic Games
a. Olympic Eligibility
- Age limit is from 19 – 34 years old
- Any AIBA (AOB) boxer who turned to APB within last 3 years
- All boxers from current professional organizations will not be eligible
- All APB boxers registered in their National Federations

The bold/italic paragraph above excludes "true" professionals from the olympics. (You just cannot take anything that comes out of AIBA/Wu's mouth at face value.) By AIBA definitions, an APB boxer is a professional and that's where the sports biggest stars will come from in their minds. AIBA's goal is to be the only pro organization out there.

Still, it's AIBA's intentions that I have listed and things aren't set in stone at all. I suspect the question about olympic eligibility will be up in the air for a while which will turn off many professionals that are otherwise sympathetic to the idea, from entering APB.
