Spitting Image Bruno...

I do not know if anyone is old enough, but on ParamountII they are re-running the orginal Spitting Image show...

As it is 1984 they are showing the brilliant 'enry Cooper (or was it George?) after the splash it all over remark

interview with Bruno, post Bonecrusher.

Bruno bemoaning the fact:

He had the cheek to go beyond the first round, and what is worse 'enry, he started hitting me! That is not boxing.

But my trainer has said he going to show me how to duck in future!

I think we forget sometimes how inept Bruno was, and how bad the Heavies must of sucked for him to.................................................................................................. ..........................................................................

have you seen the one when they renacted the bruno- tyosn fight

and after they start the fight he goes "so mike how is the family"? then gets whhhaccked out....very funny

Poor old Frank. Too damn nice to be a boxer! I ain't saying that boxers are not nice people but Frank really was/is an exceptional bloke.

Anyone remember the Spitting image sketch where Bruno and Harry Carpenter are bit like a husband and wife (with Bruno the wife).

Harry comes home after watching a Lennox Lewis fight and Bruno is doing the dishes and dressed like a middle age woman.

FB; "Where u been arry?"
HC; "Out Frank"
FB; "What about your dinner Arry?"
HC; "Not having any dinner tonite Frank, in fact im not having dinner here ever again"
FB; "Arrh no, you've got another boxer haven't you Arry?"
HC; "Yes Frank"
FB; "Its that Lennox Lewis isn't it Arry?"

The sketch finishes when Bruno starts shadow boxing on how he is gonna beat up Lennox and ends up knocking himself out.

I know he has history but he doesn't have the killer instinct that many, top-flight boxers have. I know many people who have met away from all the razzmatazz and they have all said that he is an extremely decent, humble guy. Maybe his 'softness' is down to the diazapam?
