Damn, that was my answer ! How can someone learn to bob and weave so effectively in that amount of time ? It's a hard style to perfect !

Maybe not the fastest, but it's gotta be up there - Mike Tyson. Not sure what his amateur career was, but went pro in March, 1985, then won a title from Trevor Berbick in November, 1986 at the age of twenty.

Foreman started amateur boxing in January 1967 I believe. Considering he won the gold in Mexico (September 6 he went from a virtual novice to Olympic gold medalist in just 1 and a half years. Turned pro in 69, then shocked the world by TKOing Smokin Joe in 2 rounds in 72, just 4 years from beginning his amateur career.

The fastest has to be 'Nipper' Pat Daly. Made his pro debut at just 9 years old (yes, 9 years old) -- and wasn't even training that long. It was within a year, for sure.

Nipper Pat Daly received his first title-shot before he was 17. Just saying.

That is incredible. It's hard to imagine teenagers being able to swap blows with full grown men and come out on top, even watching how quickly guys like George Foreman were able to easily over power men in their 30s when only in their very early 20s.

Agreed. Honestly, a bit sick, you know?

He was pushed too far, too soon, and too much. Humans just aren't supposed to be pushed like that.
