This probably means that Hopkins-Shumenov will also take place in the fall. The winners of these two fights will likely unify in spring/summer 2013.

To be perfectly honest, I do not think Cleverly seems too interested in fighting Shumenov.

As rumours continue to circulate as to the identity of WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly’s next opponent, due to be announced at a press conference on Monday (Sept 3), Secondsout.com has been told that American Cornelius White was offered the fight, set for October, by the Welshman’s team and accepted but have yet to hear anything back.

“A matchmaker asked us if we wanted the fight, we said yes and are waiting for them to come back to us” Ken Richardson, manager of Cornelius White told Secondsout.com earlier this evening.
