To be honest that seems like a lot. I'm completely out of shape, what should I focus on? I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to do everything and I'll have to scale it a bit.

When I first done this I was 145kg and outa shape so bad but still made it through it just have to push hard the only thing I changed was the running I done it in a x trainer, now I weigh in at 115 kg and feel fighting fit training 5 times a week 14-19 hrs a week

Hi guys im going to get bashed into this very soon, im a complete novice to boxing training always fancied it though but held it off,played alot of amateur rugby league the past few years and wanting a change, im 27 now, so just doing this to keep fit really and if i can get a few amateur bouts under my belt then thats a huge bonus. just a quick question, im wanting to stay around 14 stone, any tips etc to maintain my weight while i beast myself, cheers guys

I'm a beginning planning on starting this in the next week or so. Thanks for the OP, very thorough
Just some concerns: I know some people say not to jump into the heavy-bag and I'm concerned about balance/footwork. Is there any good drills to practice so that I'm not totally off balance starting off with the heavy bag? I don't want to get into bad habits. Would a sac ladder help with general footwork/speed? Also, would it be ill-advised to do too much on the heavy-bag without a trainer or supervisor to point out mistakes or give advice, or would work on the heavy-bag get me into bad habits defence-wise as it doesn't hit back? |

Hello, new to this forum and boxing overall, started a couple of weeks ago!
I was checking out the routine at it looks great! How many hours per week would a routine like that take, thinking about combining with my workouts at the boxing gym or would it be too much when being a complete beginner Cheers |

hey guys, im just about to start learning boxing. in about a year or maybe less if im ready, i want to compete as an amateur.
im trying to get fit right now. is doing p90x everyday and going to the boxing gym in the evening too taxing for the body or should i be good as long as i eat and get enough sleep? |

Thank you so much Relentless for that first post. (I have not had time to read much else yet). I have been training for a long time but I have got stuck in a rut and thought I would have a look and see if there are things I can be doing to inject some excitement back into things. This is it! I am annoyed with myself that I have been a member here for so long but I have only very recently started looking at the Training posts.
