Default Please Please advise on 16oz training/sparring gloves..

Hi

This is probably going to sound like a repetitive, boring and tedious guys but would really appreciate the help

I am a newbie looking for advice on some gloves and headgear. I have read the review section but unfortunately not any closer to any decisions

I am a new at the gym and have started twice a week

I need some gloves 16oz Velcro fastning with good wrist protection..

I will be using them for light bag work and sparring as I cannot afford a dedicated set of sparring gloves yet.

I have looked at the cleto Reyes Velcro strap spar glove. They seem to have very good reviews but priced at 160. I wanted to spend nearer 100

I have also seen the TWINS sparring glove at 60 and the RINGSIDE pro training gloves at 60.

The ringside have been recommended to me by a retailer, I have also read some reviews but they are both ways.

I have also looked at Rival, but confused with all the models,

Also I needed a head guard with cheek protection for around 60

And a gum shield ,, I am considering the Opro gold.

Please can I have some sound unbiased advice from people who have tried the products.

I am 29, 5,11 80kg. Medium sized hands

I've been trying to get rid of some 16oz Grants and a Grant Mexican style headguard recently if you're interested, still in good condition and that.

If you're looking to buy new, Lemarr gloves seem to be very good value for money.

I prefer lace gloves for sparring. I sparred and trained with 16oz Triumph United Heatseeker gloves. Very protective for both your hand and the opponent, real durable, but I am starting to tire of their bulk after a few years. They have velcro for those too.

I'd say if you're that new to the sport, then you should wait on buying both the headgear and mouth piece. You should not be sparring for quite some time (if at all) when you're only hitting the gym twice a week. Headgear should be a good investment IMO. You want to get one that is both durable but mostly very comfortable (one which doesn't rotate or block vision) meaning you would be paying top $ for a decent one.

Thanks for the advice. Any clues on some gloves.

Ideally don't want to pay 160 for some cleto Reyes if there is some thing close cheaper
