Default Can reflex increase over time?

Havent done any boxing recently and did some light sparring for the first time in like 3 months. I put on like 17 lbs from working out and bulking and besides the obvious strength increase I noticed my reflexes are much better now. Also had eye surgery to correct my vision (never wore contacts) so maybe I'm picking up smaller movements now

it may be related to the fact that you simply had rest.

Well your natural reflexes maybe to turn your head, over time you'll react to slipping and countering as a natural reflex..

the more you learn with practice,,,the less you will have to think about in sparring ...once you have confident in knowing what to do .your reflex punch will happen naturally ,,,,

Vitali Klitschko plays ping pong everyday to sharpen his reflexes. His body is begining to fail him now but still his reflexes are unmatched, 15 years as a pro fighting with his hands down at heavyweight and never touched the canvas. Amazing really.

rest doesn't hurt. I dont know about anyone else, but if i have a little lay off and come back to it - i feel like a million bucks the first time i train. Might be purely mental - being excited and happy to be back in the gym. But i definitely feel looser and faster. After a while that goes away, cause with training all the time some part of your body, or your mind, is always fatigued
