swimming would be good, your regular boxing workouts like hitting the bags and mitts etc. are all great cardio when done at a fairly intense pace. you can mix in conditioning drills on the bags and stuff too like 15 second intervals of fast punching, then 15 seconds power punches etc etc

Its a no brainer for me: go visit a doctor!! When having an injurie u should relax to u dont feel no pain at all + 1-2 weeks resting after the pain is gone. In mean time u shall only walk to get blood going so the injury heals faster. Good luck ant please take my advice. Stressing a injury that is allredy there will only make it 10 times worse in 5 years

cycling, swimming, or pretty much anything at a high pace (not to be confused with intensity). Cardiovascular fitness is doing something that challenges your heart to pump blood and veins to move blood. You don't have to be doing something that involves literal movement. There are variations of isometrics and polymetrics which can be stationary. Heavy bags, double-end bags, mitt work are obvious choices where you can be relatively stationary but working at a very high rate. There are modified sit-ups which get that heart going (at least they get mine going) and are less tiresome on your abdomen muscles - it means you can work on them longer without fatiguing as fast. You may be sacrificing some strength building in place of conditioning, but it all depends on what your're trying to do. Youtube has lots of videos

When it comes to a knee injury, take it fucking seriously. Better to be "on the shelf" for 3-4 weeks than to cause some damage which affects/impairs ALL future training. Sit-ups/push-ups/pull-ups/inverted pull-ups/dips/isometrics are all fine for a few weeks while that knee heals imo. Once it heals FULLY, then get back on the track, but wait it out.

I've just started carrying a kettlebell while walking my dogs. I do some mountain-biking to give them a good run out for 45 mins and then stick the bike in the car and pick up a KB and walk with it. Overhead, by the side, switch-up. The beauty is that there's no jarring (I have achilles problems and running has started fucking me up again) and the CV benefits/fat-stripping effects have shocked me
Quite a lot of info about various types of loaded carries circulating about on the 'net. Many ways of doing them and I've noticed a difference body comp wise pretty quickly. A few mates who serve/have served in the forces have been telling me this shit for years; I should have listened to them a long time ago as they're some of the most endurant people I know while also having very decent levels of strength. |

how come cycling is boring ? Get a good bicycle and cycle on the road, you can explore new places, appreciate life, rediscover your country and it's good cardio at the same time. If you live in a city then tough luck... Maybe cycle out of the city on those long endless roads.

Seems this question is asked every week. I'm sure I made the same mistake when I originally asked the very same question due to similar problems.
It would do you good to do a search or simply scroll a few threads down for a good reading/answer. |
