Default What Does Every One Sprint??

Hi guys,
Decided to write myself a training plan I can keep too.
Got to planning my sprints. going to do 3 sessions a week but always with a days rest.
few questions:
1- how many should I be doing?
2 - how far should they be?

curious to know what everyone else does
Thanks

sprint 25 walk back, sprint 50 walk back, 100m walk back, 200m walk back,400m walk back.

Work your way back down if you can so then 200, 100, 50, 25

This will hurt

I have a park right across the street that I do sprints at. if I had to guess I would say its about 175 yards one way. I run up and back about 10 times. legs are pretty burned out at the end. this is after walking my dog for an hour, followed by a two hour boxing sess.

sprints are twice a week.
push-ups, pull-ups now twice a week.
boxing six days a week.
sometimes I lift some weights. usually squats, dead lifts, & stomach.
walking/hiking with dog 5 days a week.

I'm f'ing tired Sunday.

I would say as your just starting out do what you feel you can do but not to tire yourself or burn yourself out after a week but of course to push you. Don't just sprint look at doing some incline hill runs some long slow jogs with 1 or 2 kilo ankle weights on with work wonders on your footwork. Always time yourself and try to beat the time you did last time of course not every week your going beat the time but write it down your see the improvements after 6 weeks Throw in some swimming I know it's not running but it's just as good and works the exact same muscles.

yeh theres a hill near me, was thinking of doing hill sprints for one of my sessions. defo keeping a journal for motivation. I go for a light swim straight after boxing sometimes. feel that the cold water helps with my recovery. and i will try the ankle weight tip cheers, think we got some down our club, might start skipping & shadow boxing with them on??

Hill runs will help alot just mix it up each week either planned or decide on the day it keeps the body guessing and you won't fall into the same routine. Swimming is great to do here and there. I have all my am career and it has helped me ALOT. You feel the difference I always use to train, run with them on in bouts I was moving alot faster my footwork was much more crisp but I did take a few training sessions off without them on because looking after your body is number 1 and as much as I preferd them on I wasn't going to box with them on so yeah there good but just mix it up again. So I take it your just starting to box ?

yeh mate, really enjoying it. left it way too late though i think. currently early 20s. as silly as it may seem i never really had the guts to walk into a boxing club before.

At the moment just trying to absolutely nail down the basics, i practice as much as i can on footwork, head movement, stance, staying loose and moving around etc.

Your not too late trust me.I know a few boxers after a few years training turn pro and do alright. Everyone has once started not knowing much and was scared at first believe me I was 8 and hated it for years but never missed a training session I soon fell in love with it. You seem to have the right mindset and know what you have to do. All I would really have to say is if you are serious and want to do well even if that's just a few bouts or becoming a good am boxer you have to put in the work it has to be your life you have to graft deep and hard and practice as much as you can but don't burn out rest is just as importmant as training. You may be playing catch up for some boxers but it's all about how much work you put in if you like inbox me on updates ir if you wanna know anything I wish you all the best
