He's mined 118 for all it's worth.
Pts defeat to Agbeko for the IBF title, SD loss to Mares in an eliminator for the IBF title, UD losses to Moreno for the WBA title & Yamanaka for the WBC title. He's basically run out of titles to fight for at 118. This win will get him a decent world ranking at 122 plus it was an entertaining fight which means that HBO will likely be willing to feature him again. |

The win deals him in at 122 and gives him something to build on. I wouldn't mind seeing Vic in with someone like Rafael Marquez. The winner gets a title shot. |

With Mares, Nonentity & Rigo holding the major belts, 122 is suddenly a very tough division.
A Rafael Marquez fight would be the best matchup for Vic. A win would be a significant victory & set up a title shot. It would also likely be a decent payday for both guys. A loss for either of them would be an honourable way to bow out. |

Vic needs to model this final stage of his career on Jorge Arce. Namely, keep away from the younger fast guys (Mares, Moreno) who he has struggled with of late and focus on fighting regularly against chumps (the Arce model) and mixing it up with beatable yet still profitable names (Raf Marquez).
