Toney began calling those guys out after he beat barkley. He got no repsonse so he called them out on national tv. Kallen (Toney's manager) waited for them to get back to them but they never did.

Benn started to call out Benn after he beat Barkley and its clear from the Ross show that Benn knew who he was. You will notice that neither Benn or Eubank want to repond to his taunts because that would be the equivalent of accepting Toney's challenge. Toney used to spar with McClellan and handled him easily. He would of beat Benn and McClellan in a fight Hopkins? Last edited by general zod; 10-07-2012 at 08:30 AM. |

Toney was calling then out after he beat Barkley back in 93. Neither of them respsonded, which is the reason why he then did it so publicy and still got no response. Eubank didnt fight top American fighters, which is why he made a point of missing ALL of them. I wonder who grabbed his wbo mw belt after he vacated it? |

Lets be honest here and look at the level of competition Toney fought after winning the title off Barkley at 168
- govoner chavers 9-3-1 - ricky thomas 11-9-1 - glen thomas 24-1-0 - danny garcia 25-9-0 - larry prather 10-10-0 - tony thornton 35-5-1 - anthony hembrick 27-4-1 - tim littles 24-0-0 - vinson durham 11-6-1 - charles williams 36-5-2 Does this really look like a fighter who wanted to fight Nigel Benn? Could you imagine what ESB would say today if Andre Wards next 10 fights were against opponents of this calibre? |

Only the fights I highlighted were smw fights the rest were keep busy fights against nobodies. He fought Mccallum x 2, R.Johnson and Michael Nunn but now his scared off Benn, because he fought a lot of keep busy fights. |

No disrespect but the facts don't lie. the opponents i listed above are all the fighters james toney fought during his title reign at 168 from when he won it off barkley to when he lost it to jones. They are the facts and no amount of crying about it changes that. A world champion fighting that calibre off opponent is nothing but an absolute bloody disgrace to the sport of boxing. Andre Ward would be crucified for doing that. |

And when did he do that exactly? After he pulled out of the King deal? After he entered into that deal with Sky and only fought nobodies? Quote:

Is that the reason why the fights I never highlighted all took place at lhw-cw? |
