He's also widely considered to be the greatest heavyweight of all time. Do you agree with this? And also how would Ali fare against him?

NO
While Louis would fare well against any HW prior to the 60s, the gap in skill level jumped greatly when fighters were paid more and thus able to train more and fight less often. ![]() Lennox Lewis is the greatest HW of all time. And Foreman is arguably the biggest puncher in the top 10.

greatest puncher no out of interest who on earth said that?, greatest heavyweight it's between him and Ali boils down to a longevity vs resume deal personally I go with Ali. I can't ever know how Ali would fare against him so I wont bother with that one.

I'd say he's up there with fighters like Arguello, absolutely. A sublime puncher. He wasn't the biggest puncher but for all round ability, such as precision, combinations etc., he is amongst the greatest of all time in any division.

We could debate till the cows come home whether he would have beaten Ali or Lewis and we will never know, but what we can say for him is that he probably displayed better punching and finishing form than any other fighter in his weight class.

2) ali would knock him out no doubt. he moves too well for someone as flat footed and slow as louis. his defence wasn't the best either, so ali would get his shots off with little problem. he'd bust louis up over the first 6 then knock him out soon after. bad match up for joe. 3) he's not the greatest puncher ever. there's loads of fighters that hit harder than he did. too many to list. |
