They are rare, but they exist.
A fighter with power, will typically be developed as an offensive fighter. I have sometimes speculated that Jack Johnson and Joe Walcott, might have been sluggers if they had come along today! Who are the examples? |

Burley could hit. Well enough to hurt just about anyone he took to the ring with.
Jones was as hard to find as Whitaker but could end things with one punch. Archie Moore? Napoles. Espparragozza. How about Joe Gans and Tommy Ryan? |

Samart Payakaroon. Perfectly encapsulated in this 18 second clip from the 12th and final round of his title defence against the dangerous puncher 'Kid' Meza that you all have time to watch.

What these fighters have in common, is that they became defensive specialists due to career circumstances. |

Well I wouldn't say he's a banger but then again he was an offensive force at 130 and has scored stoppages where he's dropped the opponent all the way to 147 so I'd say he's as good a shout as any
Question is would Pascual Perez qualify? |

Are we saying you have to be brilliant defensively and take the defensive approach? Because Tyson at his very best would qualify if not. |
