I'm 19, and most of my friends only seem to know of tyson Ali and calzaghe I have not actually come across another boxing fan as of yet. I think MMA may have a lot to do with it as many of them practice and compete in it but then again they're not exactly big MMA fans either they just enjoy kicking the crap out of people so if MMA wasn't around they'd probably be doing boxing and they'd still only know tyson Ali and JC

I'm young...

I don't know anybody who watches boxing though -.-

Why I am on this forum so much.

Most of the fights take place in 'Merica at 5:00 in the morning so it's pretty hard to get into.

Only fights people watch are sh*tty Haye vs Klit fights... and none of these people are even boxing fans...

I think there are a lot more baseball players (pitchers in particular) in their 30's and 40's than pro boxers.

Not that it's unheard of in boxing (heavyweights in particular) but I think you find a lot more careers stretching past the 2-decade mark on the diamond than in the ring.

I mean, repeated blows to the head over many years are a bit more serious than stuff like Tommy John surgery.

Nearly all of my friends watch the Klitschko fights here in Germany. But 95% of them cant name one fighter out of the Brothers.

I remember going to school after the Haye/Wlad fight and kids talking how cool that fight was smh.

Geezers: "Back in MY DAY, we had (insert names). Now we got punks like these". (sigh)

It seems that way, what's up with all the people here on ESB calling boxers in their mid 20's ¨kids¨?

¨The kid has heart¨, ¨the kid is a bum¨, ¨the kid packs a punch¨? wtf, since when a 20-somethin is considered a ¨kid¨?

I'm a 20-somethin too, and the only people who call me ¨kid¨ irl are 60+ dudes

I'm officially too old to be called a kid as of the end of this month.

Probably. And the MMA fanbase seems to be a cesspool of degenerate inbreds with borderline intellectual functioning.

Happy 31yo b-day

It's weird how in ESB you're considered a kid from debut age up to 30yo

but from 35yo onwards, you're a declining old man who should be thinking about hanging them up

adult life is so short for a boxer

Dont worry, only reason UFC blew up is because it finally gave the white demographic someone to cheer for. But once latinos/blacks/mixed fighters take it over (currently happening) it will plateau hard. Ever seen a ufc crowd? It looks like a WWE crowd.

no offense white ppl, you guys just usually lack natural rhythm thats really important in fighting. noracist srs.

I trained in the bronx and the white fighters always looked slightly stiffer. I'd be blatantly lying if I said otherwise.

I'm a huge fan of boxing and follow a lot of fighters and fights and i'm always interested in learning about old school fighters and i'm 17 years old I've been following it since i was a kid. I also follow basketball and MMA but boxing is my favorite out of the three.
