And why in the fuck would Ward duck this fight? Jr isn't a big risk and he could potentially be looking at a career high payday.

1 - Ward cant make 160 healthily 2 - If he could drop to 160 healthily, he would fight Sergio, not the guy sergio just beat 11 rounds to 1. 3 - JR doesnt want to fight at 160 anymore, and stated in this very interview if he doesnt fight martinez again hes moving up. He doesnt want to fight at 160, it kills him making the weight there. It would essentially be a fight between two 168lbers, at 160. Ward vs Chavez at middleweight makes no sense for either fighter. |

Chavez is too ballsy for his own good, he wasn't ready for Martinez yet and he sure as hell ain't ready for Ward.
I'd expect Chavez to fight much more agressively agaisnt Ward than he did against Sergio, since Chavez wont respect Ward's puny power at all. However, Ward would frustrate his attacks all night with his trademark holding & hitting tactics and occassional slickness and win a wide UD, specially if the fight takes place in JOakland |

As for having NOTHING but power. Nah.......He's a relentless body puncher. Unless his opponent has serious power to keep him off, or is lightning fast to slip his shot and has excellent footwork to work off the ropes.....he's gonna beat them to the body. |

I like Chavez Jr. so I don't want to see this fight anytime soon. No need to take two loses so close to each other.

Jr is gonna have to take the tougher fights.. I mean he do what guys like Humberto Soto did and get paid off of bogus PPV against a buch of stiffs cause he has a following but with his name he has to fight the big boys.. Jr suspention is going to be a min.. the last one was 7 months, he might just get the year this time.. nixing the possible Cinco De Mayo tilt with Ward.. |
