He has a belt, many (myself included) think he is one of the best in the division, make short work of him then and get an easy title.

I definitely agree that Nonito Donaire would make easy work of Guillermo Rigondeaux. Guillermo Rigondeax has a streaky chin, as evidenced by him being dropped by a Ricardo Cordona jab and stunned by the only two flush punches that Roberto Marroquin landed. Neither guy possesses the talent, speed, power, and skill of the Filipino Flash.
Nonito Donaire would have 12 rounds to catch the hideous Cuban and he doesn't necessarily even have to land a haymaker. A decent shot from the San Leandro native should be able to turn the Jackal's legs into jelly. |

There are many good points regarding why this fight hasn't been made...Rigo is boring, Rigo isn't marketable, Rigo hasn't earned it, Rigo hasn't fought anyone(which is why he isn't marketable). But regardless of all of that. I'd still like to see what happens inside the ring. Make the fucking fight. Boxing fans should never calculate or give a flying fuck about financial implications. For the record, I think Donaire would come out on top. Rigo would become even more defensive than he already is and barely throw a punch.

Nonito Donaire is simply asking the Hideous Cuban to put a decent name or two on his resume. This aids tremendously in building up the fight and inevitably lining both fighter's pockets with greater return. At the moment, only die hard boxing fans know who the Hideous Cuban is. Right now, the Hideous Cuban has zero negotiating power. None. Shit draws more flies to it than fans to one of the Hideous Cuban's fights. An impressive win over Mathebula or Wilfredi Vazquez Jr. would make the fight significantly more marketable. |

Rigo is pulling a Haye....talk enough shit and everyone will demand you fight the top guy even though you havent done anything to EARN the shot.
Fact is Rigo has 11 fucking pro fights, but at this point public demand is so strong this fight should be made now. Donaire needs to go ahead and knock Glasseaux out already and shut everyone up |
