I agree with you.

Moon couldn't get a third match with panic-stricken Khaobroner who knew he got lucky so Moon tried to get a fight with Mighty Khaosai himself.

Unfortunately Khaosai was busy chasing terrified Espinosa and laughing at Watanabe.

All jokes aside, you seen Khaokor-Vasquez?

Yes.

I disagree with the official scorecards.
Khaokor clearly won that fight.
Something like 8-4. If you're a fan of Vazquez.

Khaokor was a pretty good fighter - like a technical, faster, boxer-type, less manly version of his brother.

Based on that fight how d'ya think he'd get on with Donaire?

Khaokor was a good fighter.
Donaire looks like he has the potential to be a very good/borderline great fighter.

Khaokor has the style to give Donaire trouble and a tough fight.
He can fight off the back foot, throws straight punches, he can be busy and he has (Espinosa fix aside) a sturdy chin.

Donaire doesn't like to lead and he tends to neglect his jab and combinations waiting for the perfect counter.

But I just don't think Khaokor simply was good enough to completely neutralize Donaire's superior speed and dangerous punching power.

You need to have better defense and a better jab to keep Donaire from hitting you with his power shots on a regular basis.
Fighting with a bit more patient/not taking a lot of chances approach wouldn't hurt either.

Donaire wins this one, in my opinion.
By decision.

Khaokor is the level of fighter we would like to see a significantly hyped fighter like Donaire(or whoever) in with to genuinely prove himself. He's a good wide step up from the likes of Montiel, old man nishioka, or the overrated fighters that make up 95% of Ward's record etc

Easier to get on board a bandwagon when someone beats a few fighters of that level

Agreed. Orlando similarly never took on a challenge of that calibre (apart from the immortal Ray Minus of course) not that I can recall off the top of my head anyway.

Nice work Lester. I'd tend to agree.

Who can Donaire fight who's on Khaokor's level of ability in your opinion, Lora?

In other words what must he do to impress you the same way he impressed Luf?

Barkley vs Hearns decent I suppose. A lot of people say Hearns isn't frail but I disagree. He gets caught, he gets hurt.

Seen the Toney fight before but love it. Barkley was made for him in the way Nigel Benn would have been. Toney is one of my favourites for sure \0/
Hearns was not 'frail' but not too sturdy either. Barkley was a monster middle and very tough. Not like he didn't rematch Tommy at LHW and beat him again

Nice upload, Flea.

Marcel - A. Gomez is the definition of "obscure gem".

High quality stuff.

MD verdict was a ridiculous robbery attempt.

Marcel clearly won that fight.
10-5. If you're Gomez' relative.

Gotta admit even though I rate Sanchez very highly I can easily envision Marcel giving him all kinds of trouble.
Especially considering Sanchez' struggles with boxer-type fighters.

Glad you enjoyed it.

When watched with Shibata (robbery) and Arguello it's hard not to be bowled over by Flat Nose's ability, boxing brain and all round skillset.

Sublime.

By the way I liked A. Gomez too.
Even though he looked like a rusty, sloppy fighter.

I've heard that A. Gomez was a pretty good fighter in his prime.
But he declined quickly cuz of his erratic training habits and constant partying.

Have you seen his fight against Shozo Saijo - I've heard that it was his best performance?

It's the only thing you're gonna' get other than this!

But yes, brilliant performance. Unlike most that caught Shoza with an accurate counter Gomez was able to finish him.

Watch it now, in colour on YouTube

Lora reckons he went downhill outside the ring after winning the title. Regardless he showed nice touches against Marcel and was just totally outmatched.

Ridiculous, really. See how class he is against Saijo and then you'll appreciate Marcel more

Oh...it's not on YouTube anymore.

Well I s'pose I'd better rectify that situation. I'll do it tomorrow, sorry for building your hopes up Lester!

Shozo was looking a bit past it against Gomez himself, mind you.
