Donaire for me. Mosley was overrated at the time by the Margarito win.

Donaires win was better here's why:

1. Donaire got 2 knockdowns, Floyd got none

2. Donaire stopped Nishioka, Floyd never really had Mosley that badly hurt.

3. Donaire didn't lose any rounds- Mayweather did.

4. Nishioka had more left than Mosley.

5. Any reasonable boxing observer had Nishioka rated as number 1 in the division, whereas when Mosley fought Mayweather you could also make a case for Pacquiao being number 1 (as he had defeated Cotto who defeated Mosley).

If you point out that lineage, then complete it:

Cotto beat Mosley, Cotto is Ring Mag WW #1
Mayweather beat Hatton, Ring Mag WW title is forfeit upon Mayweather retiring
Margarito beat Cotto, Margarito becomes Ring Mag WW #1
Mosley beat Margarito, Ring Mag #3 beating Ring Mag #1 to become #1
Pacquiao beat Cotto
Mayweather beat Mosley, Ring Mag #3 beating Ring Mag #1 to become #1

While observers may have seen Mayweather and/or Pacquiao as the better fighter at WW, it was unanimous amongst publications that Mosley was the highest ranked WW (with the exceptions of those that honor but don't forfeit lineal titles upon retiring, in which case Mayweather would have been the lineal WW champ throughout his retirement).

Pretty sure Pacquiao went straight in at number 1 when he beat Cotto.

It says on here Mosley entered at number 2 welterweight (I know they was 2 and 3 pound for pound).

I know this for a fact... I hate using that word, sorry... But really, entering May 1st, 2010, Ring Magazine looked like this:

P4P ranks:
1. Pacquiao
2. Mayweather
3. Mosley

WW ranks:
1. Mosley
2. Pacquiao
3. Mayweather

It was a big deal with many claiming Mayweather/Mosley should be for the vacant WW title since Mayweather lost it via retirement and not in the ring not too long before, while everyone else respected the lineage ceasing with the retirement and acknowledging that a WW lineal title wouldn't be worthy without Pacquiao in the fight.

I look at Mosley of the time as a faded great and Nishioka as a less-faded very good. So, I guess what I'm saying is...I don't know. But, in no way did I buy at the time when they shot Mosley up into the Ring P4P ranks. I thought that was questionable decision-making, at best.

Odd question. Is Grandpa Mosley, a great fighter in his prime, still worth more than Nishioka, who when he fought Donaire, was simply pretty good? Could Mosley have beaten his division's version of an aging Rafa Marquez? Odd to think about. My instincts say Mosley but it doesn't feel totally right.

See the thrid letter down here where they are discussing Pacquiao moved to number 1 at Welterweight- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

I very much doubt it changed before May 1st because Pacquiao whopped Clottey and Mosley didn't fight.

No fanboyism or haters post please. Keep it civilized!

At the time, other than the Pac v Mayweather fight, the fans wanted Mosley v Mayweather because Shane had just beaten that bum Margarito. (although I said without PEDs shane will finally look old and I was proven right)

Who was asking for the Nishioka fight? The network or Bob came up with that BS. Nishioka was already retiring. I knew the fight would be lopsided. Career defining? More like career ducking as we all know as fans who Donaire should have been fighting.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. In case you might not know, the numbers on the left of scores are for Baldomir. Dumbass.

It seems that most of Donaire's opponents are suffering from fear after the Montiel KO, same thing happened to Pac. Donaire's win over Nishioka is a better win.

Pac ducked Mosley in 2009 Tells you all about who was the more dangerous fighter between Cotto/Mosley right then since Pac chose one and not the other.

He's taken the path of least resistance at 147.
