How would Geale fare against the 4 boxers who have defeated Mundine?

1) Sven Ottke...Hard to split this one...Ottke was undefeated...but had some real dodgy decisions go his way.

Geale has defeated Sturm at home who is probably very close to Ottke in ability and had a very narrow points loss to de La Hoya which says a lot...Also...Sturm smashed Sylvester which puts him up there methinks.

I lean towards Geale (with not a lot of confidence)

2) Manny Siaca... The perenial World Title contender...probably had more World Title fails than I've had hot dinners before he finally found someone he could beat...ie Mundine

No contest...Geale would win a wide points decision

3) Mikkel Kessler...Looked almost unbeatable until Calzaghe gave him a boxing lesson...Kessler couldn't cope with Calzaghe's constant flurries.

Geale would use the same tactics and would be in with a shot as long as Kessler didn't tag him... I lean towards a Kessler KO...but wouldn't be surprised by a points victory to Geale

4) Garth Wood...The only genuine Middleweight that has beaten Mundine

He KO'd Mundine and then lost narrowly on points to Mundine in the rematch

Wood is not in the same league as Geale and Geale would retire him for good

I realise that Ottke...Siaca and Kessler fought at a higher weight division so that makes for more guesswork

The Echols that fought Mundine was shot(in more ways than one)... Geale would have done the same as Mundine...only he'd have done it better

I think alot of you are looking at the Siaca that Green beat up whom was shot and pulled out of rehab to fight at Dannyweight , Siaca is a big MW not to mention Mundine went into that fight with an ankle injury and almost cancled the show. He underestimated Siaca and did not want to cancle the show. Mundine also underestimated Woods and paid the price, 2nd time round he didnt underestimate him and won no problems, you must remember Wood is awkard and its boxing where one punch can change the entire fight, Woods may catch Geale and do what he did to Mundine, we never will know, one thing is certian Geale doesnt like fighting akward fighters.

BULLFUCKINGSHIT... I am looking at the Siaca that had from memory 4 shots at a World Title before he took it from Mundine...Hardly a great recommendation

Are we talking Geale prime (now) versus these fighters or are we talking how Geale would have faired against them at the same stage of his career as Mundine was when Mundine fought them. Mundine had had only 10 pro fights when he fought Ottke, so how would Geale have gone against Ottke after his first 10 fights ?

u have to put all the facts in full context, Mundine had a falling out with the IBO as such he didnt trust them for the rematch nor did he wish to fight Geale for the IBO title, once Geale won the IBF/WBA titles the tide changed and Mundine decided to give Geale his rematch. People are also divided as to whom won the inital fight, some say Mundine some say Geale, very similar to the Soliman 1 fight, the rematch will sort it all out just as it did with Soliman 2 fight.

The rematch this time round will net Mundine a sht load more money than it would have had he rematched Geale so close to their 1st meeting, its built up slowly over the yrs and could come close to beating the record set for Green v Mundine however i doubt it will beat it, mearly come close as its possibly the biggest fight in AUS since Green v Mundine and partly due to Geales titles and the contraversy surrounding their 1st encounter.

If Mundine is as shot as everyone thinks its a pretty gutsy move on his part. Give credit where credit is due and put your rose colour glasses away sunshine

whats bullsht? the ankle injury or ? I was ringside for that fight and trust me, Siaca is a big MW and Mundine did have a ankle injury , it was so bad that he ended up rolling it again during the fight and went down as a result, no punch landed that put him down. He was wary of the ankle and Siacas size, he has always had problems with bigger fighters. Siaca was cagy and more than likely at his peak during that time. Siaca also only had 3 shots at the title before he met Mundine not 4, and on all occasions he did well, loosing twice to a Split Decision and loosing once via TKO in the 12th round.

I have always maintained that Mundine would rematch Geale when he had something that Mundine wanted. I was right. Geale sold virtually nothing in his own backyard where was the need for a rematch? The IBO tried to screw Mundine, Geale brought NOTHING to the table for a rematch at the time.
