Why would I respond to you in good faith, if you're just going to be a dick to me every single time for no reason regardless of what I type?

What is it exactly that you have against me, anyway?

You disagree with me on several things about MMA?

My posts are too long?

I'm too much of an asshole to you?

Whatever man. Yet another potentially good thread is ruined by two grown men acting like bitchy schoolgirls on their rags. This time it's one of your own threads. Anyway, I'm going to stop trying to have an actual civil two-way conversation with you now, and hopefully someone who isn't one of us two can rescue the thread.

Yes, yes, I know, didn't read.

Later, Stoo. Take care.

To be fair, this year has been worse than the last couple of years. High-profile injuries have a lot to do with that.

But yes, all this Chicken Little shit is tiresome. The sport is in a better place now than it was 5 years ago, and it's light years advanced from where it was 10 years ago. But haters are always gonna hate.

And in 2013, one reason to be optimistic is that the HW division is going to get a LOT more exciting. Cormier and Overeem by themselves will be awesome additions to the title picture. There are some tremendous fights on the table that were on hold through 2012, and if JDS can keep going as he has been, in 12 months we might well be starting to ask if he's the best HW ever.

And this "as real as it gets" thing - did fighters used to be allowed to bite, eye-gouge, fishhook, break fingers and thumbs, punch to the throat, that sort of thing?

Well the selling point was "as real as it gets", right?

So how come there was a list of prohibited techniques right from the start? Small joint manipulation or hair pulling isn't going to kill anyone, how come fighters weren't allowed to do it?
