Marciano locked himself away during camp...2-3 weeks before a fight...no newspapers...no outside contact...just work his ass off and focus on his opponent...

Part of my it was so unfathomable for young Ali to have the legs he had was that they held up on him, no matter what he put them through. I feel like I creak every time I walk.

I've heard rumors that Marciano would challenge himself, every single round, on any bag, in any exercise, to fill every single second with punch, breathe, or movement, no rest. That would take a true animal, with an iron constitution.
I've heard that his workouts were a minimum of 60 rounds of various bag work and sparring. That means on top of that, he was doing his sit ups, running, etc.

60 rounds a day...Yikes.

That's almost double what I did at my absolute peak.

I've noticed that the mindset of guys who were the hardest trainers is similar...going to "jail" and locking away in a ridiculously focussed mindset that is borderline insane.

I know I don't have the mindset to do the type of intense workouts they did everyday as the fight got closer.

Love them or Hate them, but Mayweather and Pacquiao deserve mention here.
