Default George Groves vs Glen Johnson announced.

Good fight for George!

Great name for him to fight and Johnson is a tough tough man.

Big test for the saint.

If he comes through this I think it will be a real sign that the boy has become a man.

Thoughts?

Sorry if this has been mentioned.

Good Name on the record, Bit of learning but it don't see it as the big test you mention. Johnson losing last time out to a average opponent and retiring shows where he's at. I wouldn't even write off a stoppage here for Groves.

Smart matchmaking..

Doubt Groves stops Johnson but he shouldn't have ANY problem beating him.

Agree that it is smart matchmaking.

Just like Abraham, It has been shown that a decent boxer can out fox them without too much trouble.

But I think a doubt over George in a lot of people's mind is Georges toughness which this fight WILL show or expose!

Johnson will test Groves for sure, no matter how shot he is.

Groves on points, 9-3.

Groves gets off the floor to win a points decision for me. Groves is as open as jordans ***** to a right hand over the top which is johnsons moneyshot.

Hmm groves is trained to be explosive and waste a lot of energy fainting any what not, question marks have to be placed over his stamina at this stage, the degale fight was a glorified amertuer fight and didn't test his fitness over 12

This is exactly the type of fight Groves should be looking to have at this moment IMO. Johnson's over the hill no doubt but they are looking for Groves to have an experience fight, where he is really tested and learns new things. Johnson always provides this, I remember when he pushed Cloud all the way (I had him winning by 1 point) when most thought he would be losing comfortably. Groves still has plenty of flaws that a prime Johnson would exploit and that even this faded version can look to target.

He will definitely get 12 rounds from it IMO, and considering the risk of a loss is minimal, can still get a genuine test. I think it's very good matchmaking.
