Id pick Andre Ward to beat anyone in or around 168 at the moment, Fortunately there are options the pick being Sergio Martinez.

His next opponent should be his own fear of fighting abroad.

Martinez is too busy trying to fight Welterweights.

Ward is fighting in a very weak SMW era, where there isnt good comp.
Look at the current top 10 and most have not beat anyone of note.

Wards best win is Kessler and he was beaten by an old past best champ at the end of his career and was, rusty and suffering double vision.

I think Bute would be the best fight for Ward. Yes Bute lost to Froch, but Ward although physically strong, does not have one punch KO power.
ward ducked Bute for a reason.
I dont think Ward would want Bute too close due to Butes body shots and I could see Bute forcing Ward to make mistakes.
Ward lost a massive opportunity not fighting Bute, as Ward has not fought any undefeated world champs or top undefeated fighters.

Bute / Ward I think would be a good one, but I wonder if Bute will ever be the same again after what Froch did to him

Sounds like Hopkins when he was MW champ.
At least Martinez used to fight at WW, Hopkins turned pro inside CW. Martinez only became a MW because a shot at Pavlik came up.

Oh yeah, two welterweights who were Middleweight champions when they fought.

Mind telling me what Joe Cal was doing at the time... OH yeah:

Not sure why you are bringing up Calzaghe, he was beating top SMWs who were world class like Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Veit, Brewer, Mitchell all fighters who have held a SMW title and other top 10 SMWs that were willing to face him.

You say only 2 WW champs.
Think you are forgetting - Simon Brown and Carl Daniels fought at WW to go with Oscar and Tito

Also have you forgotten Hopkins calling out Mosely, Mayorga and Margarito when WW champs, isnt that chasing WWs?

Then we could go on to the LMWs he was after when full on MW champ.
Hopkins has made a point of fighting naturally smaller fighters for alot of his career, Sergio hasnt made that same point as Hopkins

I would hope now he has pretty much beat most not everyone but most at a poor 168 level why not move up and take a few 175 guys on.

Hopkins
Cloud
Bellew

But there is a problem there as well.

175 and 168 are the poorest I have seen these divisions in years.

There so poor that it would be better if he could get some 160 guys to come up for big pay days.

Martinez
Golovkin
Pirog
Geale
Quillin
Chavez Jr

160 has the better overall talent and fighters for Ward to have a real fight against.

IMO

Heartbreaking avatar, at least it's good to know Pacquiao finally hugged you for your overemotional keyboard efforts. Choke on a McNugget already, midget.
