Something to improve too is NOT run on a track. Usually adds about 90secs. I'm serious. Try sprinting between two given points like telephone poles. Even if they arent the same distance. This will push your CV system. Dont do laps trust me. Its a psychological mind ****. Run in the street/sidewalk. Distance not laps.

I think running pretty much constantly round bends slows you down considerably, less than half of the time spend on a track is running in a straight line.

I know where you are coming from , but it doesnt it seems. But what I do is alternate the laps, clockwise and anti clockwise, put something there, a cone. At the pace He is going wont matter. Compared to the Road the track is safer good underground Footing, plus you have less chance of something Hitting you.

Thanks for input mates.

Day 2 - Sunday, did not run

Day 3 - Today. Had a roadwork instead of track laps. Following times I noted with 4 check points, I ran 2.5 KM on the road and turned around to reach my starting point, which is 5KM

1.2 KM - 07:23
1.3 KM - 07:02
1.3 KM - 07:38
1.2 KM - 08:16

Total 5 KM - 30:24 minutes

Not sure if I had improved. Or the roadwork instead of track changed anything?

Seeing the same shit over n over the constant turns. Seriously the only way I'll run on a track is if I have ZERO choice or if I do sprints and only straight ways. It ****ed a lot of my unit in the Army when we had to run the track for time.

I too agree that it will be boring to see the same thing over and over again.

However I prefer the tracks as they are meant to do the running. Roadwork might harm you physically. Your knee joints and so on.

Running on a track can cause injury just as easily (minus the traffic). Twist an ankle, pull a muscle. I dont see the sense in running on a track. I understand where you're coming from however and that running style too.

Its a running track not a cinema. You want a surround sound and a comfy chair to sit in too?

It's ok...running is not boxing.

I had the same thing happen in a bootcamp class. Was in the lead for almost all of a 3K, and got passed by two guys in the final 50 meters.

From now on, you can mix up a 5k or 10k with your sprints and it'll help your boxing.

You'll get 'em next time.

Did I say that? Dont think so. But it's been proven that running on a track slows you down. And yeah my surround sound is my phone (radio). So..What else ya got?

.. Yes mate..

Last I heard, it wasn't even 5KM and was less than 4KM since the organizers wanted most to finish the race. The run was for a cause actually. I easily guessed since I wasn't that exhausted and many finished it..

Some 600+ ran. I started off slow hoping I could beat them one by one, eventually.
