TS agenda is weak as hell. Manny only fights guys on decline and if not he will wait years to make sure(JMM minus this 4th fight). Floyds resume is more more legit in that regards. Plus I would pick a prime Castillo over Barrera and Morales any day of the weak. IMO.
Yep. I agree. And some how Manny has beat prime ATGs lol. Who david diaz? Soto? Clottey? what a joke.

I was amused by this thread. First it was tliang1000 with his re****ness of not understanding the thread and this funny post right here that took the cake and made me laugh.

But, I would say in Floyds case it was his acievements in holding that 0 and winning belts is what made him so great despite the lack of ATGs. Though I only consider Barerra to be in his prime when he fought Pac and Morales as in his semi-prime when he fought Pac from their he went downward. But yes, Marquez and Pac were in their prime when they first both fought each other and I also see that in the second fight.

People are pretty dumb on this thread.

The OP is saying Mayweather did not face any fighters in their prime who went on to be considered ATG.

It's true. Mayweather did not ever face a fighter in their prime who will be considered an ATG.
i.e Marquez, 37 years old when Mayweather fought him. Mayweather made him move up 2 weight classes pretty much. Marquez will be considered an ATG. By that time he was already considered an ATG anyways.

Mayweather's resume is good. He is an ATG, but there are many other fighters i.e Oscar De La Hoya, who has a greater resume, despite Mayweather having zero losses.
Oscar for example has fought greater opposition.

However, if at identical weights with Barrera, Morales, Hamed, Marquez in his prime, Tszyu and all of the other ATG's of this era...Mayweather may as well have them on his resume as we know he would beat them.

Guys been around 16 years!!!

Are there any other fighters who've managed to fight through so many weight classes, and never had to fight one prime HOF'er or ATG.

Or is Floyd a one off?

One of the most ignorant post i've seen in a long time.

What is funnier (and sad at the same time) is that these dumb mofos are so obstinate and incorrigible in their re****ation it's embarrassing.

...and what is it with *****ngs and the word "Fact" at the end of their disjointed, almost unintelligible sentences?

Default People just seem to HATE undefeated fighters

Marciano-

"He fought an OLD Louis"

"Fought a green/old (I heard both) Archie Moore even though Archie just beat an ATG in Bobo Olson and goes on to win credible opponents"

"Retired early at 32, would have taken losses if he continued"

Joe Calzaghe

"Ducked Chad Dawson", ****ing Chad Dawson

"Avoided American fighters for most of his life"

Then he goes to America

"Fights an old RJJ/Hopkins even though Hopkins became champion after "

"Loses to Ward in 4 "

"JEFF LACY WAS OVERRATED" even though everyone was on his nuts before the Calzaghe fight.

Floyd Pretty Boy Money Mayweather Joy Sinclair

"Avoided Kostya Tsuya, Margacheato and Morales (Even thougH Morales has been doing ALL the avoiding, Paul Williams, prime Cotto "

"Cherry picking even though most to all of his opponents come off wins, at their weight class, top 10 p4p"

"Lost to Castillo 1 when in reality Floyd beat him by a good margin of 115-112"

"Ducking Manny Pacquiao when we all know Arum has been doing the avoiding"

"Ducked Barrera "

Sven Ottke

"Robbed vs Reid"

"Avoided all American opposition"

"Biggest fraud"

"Avoided Joe Calzaghe"

Fact is 172 opponents have TRIED, 172 came up short. GET OVER IT.

Floyd has been ONE fight away from shutting all his critics up (I'm a Floyd fan) but he just won't do it. One fight away from greatness.

People admire fighters who test themselves and provide the public with good, meaningful fights. You can't say Joe Cal, Ottke, or Mayweather fit that profile.

Fighters like SRL, ODLH, Cotto, and Pac will always be more loved by the general public because they put themselves at risk of a loss and excited the crowds.
