Geale dogged a no1 challenger in Sam Soliman. This fight should take place before Dec 12. this has not been hounered. Geale should take this fight, then if he wins he can fight Mundine. Soliman earned that shot just as much as Geale did his, look who he fought. If Geale and his teams think the fight would not sell then i think that problem is them not Soliman. If Geale got off his ass and promoted the show of boxing then the fight would sell well in Melbourne.

Mundine ran down three weights and gets a shot at two of the four world titles and we ask how can this happen and suggest it ain't right , Too fucking right it ain't but you gotta put the blame for this firmly at Geale's feet . Mundine has worked this to perfection if you ask me ie he has got a fantastic chance to hold half of the world middleweight title simply by waiting for Geale to capture the titles then goad him into a fight ,ain't right but LMFAO beautiful all the same .

Totally agree with that.
But the thing is that the Geale-Mundine fight makes financial sense and has a very limited window of opportunity. And at this point, Mundine is quite likely a weaker opponent compared to the 2009 version. So the fight makes perfect sense, but only now. If Geale fights another top-10 rated opponents and wins - then he does not need the Mundine fight to convince his fans. If he loses - then nobody wants to see the fight anyway. So it is basically a one-shot opportunity to get paid. Fight Mundine, repair his one loss, get back to fighting quality opponents. With his only career loss revenged, future fights should allow for better paydays. |

Phil Austin confirmed (on this site no less), that no only did he feel it was a clear win for choc, but also that NO REMATCH WAS ORDERED by the IBO |

To beat Geale again? Or beat Trout? Both pretty much unknown, but I would say Geale. Looks like Choc is winning |

The Mundine fight should be a comfortable win for Daniel Geale and only a small diversion in his continuing quest to fight the top guys for more titles and the legacy that goes with it.

Though Geale has zero chance in this fight, and will be embarrassed by Mundine, he still has a few more years left. He could fight a few top 50 blokes and get another trinket before he is done, especially with help from Shaw.
Choc will leave him in his wake, no question about it. Geale will be able to say to his grandkids one day. Yep i was lucky enough to be in the ring with Choc twice. |

It made no sense Anthony Mundine ducking Austin Trout at the time, and after fighting in front of only 280 paying customers against McKart, it makes even less sense now. Daniel Geale is the only viable option Mundine had left.
