I don't see how that undoes all the good he has done, he bought roy jones jr over here, as well as antonio tarver, that is two hall of famers right there. He has consistently put on excellent undercards which give exposure to up and coming prospects, and gives them reasonable purses, and he is constantly in the media shoving the sport down the casual fan's face. Also, if any of the posters on here were in greens pr team, what would they have done after the briggs fiasco to control the damage? everybody loves to criticise but i haven't seen many alternatives as to what he did, which is preserve a little dignity for himself and the opponent.

Dawsosj - you're a good poster and I rarely find myself at odds with you but when it comes to Green, I haven't liked him for the last few years - or at least his public persona - which I guess is a disclaimer I should also extend to Mundine. I don't like either guys public persona with the exaggerated claims of greatness and what i see as quite cynical careers for both since their big match up.

He has consistently promoted the best cards boxing has seen in this country for the last decade....no comparison.

Mate what would a forum be without differing opinions and i can definitely see how people can cringe when green is in the media, it just annoys me a bit when people hope for him to get knocked out or say things such as "this is the first time im rooting against the aussie" as it seems like such an over reaction. I also don't like the claims of greatness but that is self promotion 101, and you will find that the majority of people are quite ignorant for the most part, so any thing that you can twist or manipulate to sound better or sell more tickets is exploited, again im not saying this is right but it is more a reflection of the public than the promoters imo.

His undercards are/were good. The Mundine obsession is also getting tiresome. When he wins this fight he will likely be unbearable spouting the first Australian 4 time champion. Though if he challenges Wlod after he wins I will give him props. He was far more impressive in the Palacios rematch.

Can't understand all the hate for Green. Must be that 'Tall Poppy' syndrome that we seem to give to any athlete that archives a certain level of fame.

I have no problem with Green's last three opponents and believe that Cameron will be a tough fight. Would not be shocked if Cameron wins this at this stage of Green's career.

This Mundine Green thing is like the Ford Holden rivalry! I believe both have stepped up in their next fights and both are quite likely to lose. Will be watching both!

No. If you pay attention above people have gone to the effort of explaining the reasons for disliking Green. The "Tall Poppy Syndrome" should not be used for as a catch all for any criticism or dislike of a public figure.
