Something to improve too is NOT run on a track. Usually adds about 90secs. I'm serious. Try sprinting between two given points like telephone poles. Even if they arent the same distance. This will push your CV system. Dont do laps trust me. Its a psychological mind fuck. Run in the street/sidewalk. Distance not laps.

Thanks for input mates.
Day 2 - Sunday, did not run Day 3 - Today. Had a roadwork instead of track laps. Following times I noted with 4 check points, I ran 2.5 KM on the road and turned around to reach my starting point, which is 5KM 1.2 KM - 07:23 1.3 KM - 07:02 1.3 KM - 07:38 1.2 KM - 08:16 Total 5 KM - 30:24 minutes Not sure if I had improved. Or the roadwork instead of track changed anything? |

However I prefer the tracks as they are meant to do the running. Roadwork might harm you physically. Your knee joints and so on. |

Running on a track can cause injury just as easily (minus the traffic). Twist an ankle, pull a muscle. I dont see the sense in running on a track. I understand where you're coming from however and that running style too.

It's ok...running is not boxing.
I had the same thing happen in a bootcamp class. Was in the lead for almost all of a 3K, and got passed by two guys in the final 50 meters. From now on, you can mix up a 5k or 10k with your sprints and it'll help your boxing. You'll get 'em next time. |

.. Yes mate..Last I heard, it wasn't even 5KM and was less than 4KM since the organizers wanted most to finish the race. The run was for a cause actually. I easily guessed since I wasn't that exhausted and many finished it.. ![]() Some 600+ ran. I started off slow hoping I could beat them one by one, eventually.
