yeah it would be tough for Mike to get within range against Liston ... and Liston was a monster on the inside

Mike had very good defense and was great at slipping the jab but is still at a major stylistic disadvantage against someone like Liston

Also just like to raise a point on your post. Do you think the fact that Holmes always got up to win was more due to the fact that he really never faced anyone that great in his prime years? The way Holmes gets treated on the forum it's like he hardly ever lost a round throughout his career. A prime Tyson would eat Larry for breakfast and I don't think he even makes the top 5 H2H heavyweights.
yeh tyson is a h2h monster and would trouble anyone in his prime, very few beat him

Liston his punches were rather slow so the jab wouldn't trouble a "prime" Tyson too much.
Tyson should just stay at his preferred mid range because his inside game sucked.
