Mares looks like a world class champion now , he's gonna be hard to beat for anyone right now !!!!
Moreno is world class at what he does , even though he looks like shit in doing it (just my opinion) , for the good of boxing id like to see Mares put on a pressure game plan and outwork / outland Moreno and accept the fact he's going to have to do this one the " ugly way " , I'm not sure its that simple with Moreno he's so awkward and elusive he's almost impossible to pressure into mistakes Id really like to see Mares beat him , but if I'm picking , I'm going Moreno on a decision |

Mares will probably get the decision no matter how the fight goes, like someone eluded to earlier in the thread, he's far from popular in the states.

Moreno will bamboozle Mares imo, this fight will elevate Moreno to the status & profile his talent deserves.
Wide UD for Moreno, I think Mares is a bit too basic to beat him. |

TBH i have to say i haven't seen a great deal of Mares, Bad really i missed the Vic fight and Agbeko ones and prior to those fights i wasn't overly fussed on watching him which i don't understand why.
Moreno i've seen a bit of more recently, styles wise i'd opt for Moreno to keep Mares turning and walk him onto shots and take a SD. Mares will probably impress one judge with his workrate and aggression. |

Because he's one slippery mo'fo with underrated offence, once he gets into a rhythm Mares won't be able to break it IMO.
Mares is fearless though, his resume is amongst the best in the lower weight classes and is entertaining, hard not to like the guy, think he comes up short here though. |

Moreno has had some very good wins but the breakout performance for him was Darchinyan and that stylistically couldn't have played out any nicer for him. He looked excellent vs De la Mora too but Mares is a lot cuter with his pressure than those two. Cermeno twice took Moreno close and he isn't anything special at all. That is proof that it can be done and provided that Moreno hasn't actually turned into this magician that some people think he has, I think Mares is good enough to win most rounds.
But I don't want to be overly critical because they have both definitely improved and it's a great credit to them both that they've taken this fight. I think Mares will win but I can't be overly sure about it, they are both talented enough to dictate the fight on their own terms. |
