I rate tyson very highly but in this one he has a few problems he struggled to fight once he was backed up and once that happened that is when he tended to fall apart.
The one thing Ali had over Tyson big was his footspeed. |

Will inflict more damage. Ali likes to fight with his hands down and that will be a huge mistake against Tyson who is very fast for a heavyweight and extremely heavy handed. It is a very bad match up for Ali for he doesn't really hit harder enough to keep tyson at bay.

When did Marciano ever withstand anything comparable to Tyson's early round assault? It never happened. Not even close. Looks to me like your argument is "faith based". Marciano started way too slowly and was too open defensively not to eat bombs from the opening bell. He wouldn't survive more than a few rounds. |

Frazier was willing to pay the price of having his face transformed into a mass of lumps, and contusions to land his hook, it comes down to heart. Frazier also did not have the same success in their subsequent fights when Ali had shook off his ring rust.
