I thought he was fighting Guirellimo Jones?
He hasn't done much since beating Huck (in my opinion) Is everyone avoiding him? I see the Lebedev that fought Huck beating Wlodarczyk and Hernandez.... Maybe some of our Russian posters know more about his situation

About 1 year ago he was supposed to unfy with Jones but Jones requested and was allowed to have it delayed so he could fight a tune up. They were supposed to unify again a couple months ago but Jones did the same thing and asked that he be allowed to fight a tune it, it was granted. Jones pulled out of that tune up and was finally stripped about 2 weeks ago after ducking him for almost 2 years. Lebedev has been named the sole WBA Champion (similar to the Golovkin situation). All of this just happened so not sure what is next yet. Hopefully he makes a meaningful title defense. These were the WBA CW rankings in September
1. DENIS LEBEDEV (INT. CHAMP) RUS 2. PAWEL KOLODZIEJ (WBA INT) POL 3. BJ FLORES USA 4. LAUDELINO BARROS BRA 5. ALEXANDER ALEKSEEV (EBU) UZB 6. IAGO KILADZE (WBA I/C) GEO 7. MATEUSZ MASTERNAK POL 8. FIRAT ARSLAN GER 9. GRIGORY DROZD RUS 10. SANTANDER SILGADO Rather terrible rankings. - Barros is a bum who built his record on cab drivers - Flores is a bum who hasn't done anything since getting outboxed by Danny fucking Green - Kolodziej, Alekseev, Kiladze are the fights i would be most interested to see or a unification obviously. BTW Masternak, Chakhkiev, Kucher are all in the RING top 10 ratings

Lebedev tried to make a fight with Mormeck but that was scratched bc the WBA wanted him to fight Jones. We saw what happened there.
Lebedev will certainly put something together in the near future. The winner of Green vs Cameron could be decent. Names like Tarver and Mormeck are nice for exposure. Drozd may be a rather easy fight to make and then there are the unifications which can happen if big money is possible. |

Over at BScene...they're reporting 3 possible opponents for a Dec 17 card in Moscow.
The opponents are Santander Silgado 23-0, 18 kos WBA #10 Andres Taylor 21-2-1, 8 kos WBA #15 Lateef Kayode 18-0 (14) WBA unranked Taylor is scheduled to fight Chakhkiev. So it's either Silgado or Kayode according to the scene. I hope it's Kayode

Kolodziej ain't ready for Lebedev. Too big of a step up...he should fight somone like a Drodz or Fragomeni to test his world class stage. A win over Rob Conaway doesn't proove much..
Maybe next summer he SHOULD be ready for Dennis. |
