Doubts are growing over Don King's Chris Arreola vs Bermane Staverne WBC world title eliminator. King paid way over the odds for the December 15th matchup set down for Venezuela.

Dan Raphael had this to say today >>>

"Arreola is supposed to fight Bermane Stiverne in a title eliminator to become Vitali's manadatory. Don King won the purse bid and supposedly the fight will be next month in Venezuela. I will believe it when I see it".

I hope it goes ahead and I hope that both will be in the best shape they can possibly be (notice how I worded it ?)

That being said, in today's boxing it seems that most title eliminators never get made and when they are, it seems that the winner never gets to fight the champ right away.

I like Stiverne's left hook and I like Arreola's heart.

I hope it does happen all the decent heavyweight fights seem to be getting called off lately.

arreola has had 1 fight this year

stiverne has 3 fights in 2 years, 1 of which was 13-10 cruiser willie herring in an 8 round decision

just when you thought heavyweights couldnt get any more pathetic. stiverne is already 34 years old with a 22-1-1 record. im excited

Don King has been referring to this one as a "Superfight". Paid $1.1Million for it, the silly old coot. Goossen offered less than half that.

I think the fight will happen I'm pretty skeptical it happens in Venezuela though. King paid over 1 million for the fight and I don't think he gets any major tv coverage in Venezuela.

Goosen bid 500,000 for the fight and if King can't put the fight on than Goosen gets it. I read, if he gets the fight, he wants to put it on the undercard of Ward-Pavlik.

It won't see the 12th, however. Arreola will fall.
