surprised that more wasnt made of the back of the head shot that nathan hit the guy with as he was falling to the final knockdown.
reminded me a lot of abraham v dirrell and AA got flat out DQ'd for that shot. little heat of the moment i'm sure but bloody dangerous no? |

Think it was largely ignored because it was quite clear Hawk was done. He expected to get counted out the first time you could see his surprise when he was allowed to continue.

Just before the first knockdown, Hawk was undone by body shots. However, as he was landing them, the ref said "keep 'em up!". Then, just before the finish the same thing happened again.
It certainly wouldn't have made any difference to the outcome, but quite often we see fighters get hurt by low blows/rabbit punches, etc, then go on to be legitimately knocked out shortly after. It seems if the "right" fighter wins, then certain things get overlooked... |
