This is flat-out rubbish,S. Bob liked ta think of himself as a rough 'n tough brawler outta the slums of Chicago, and his assitants -- all ex-fighters and trainers -- allowed him to believe that.

When he had his two back-to-back hit tv series, during lunch he insisted on a boxing ring, a jump rope and all the bags just off set. Warner Brothers went along with it; he was generating a ton-a-money for the studio

When he sparred, his minions pumped him up, telling him what badass he was. They eased-up. They weren't about to kill the golden goose.

Bob was convinced if he was a little taller (he was about 5'7") he coulda been a champ. I'm convinced he'd have given up acting if he could have accomplished that, ta have walked into a gym and gotten the same respect as local greats, Tony Zale 'n Barney Ross.

If i had to hazard a guess how Bob would have done as a pro (He was already mid 30s) If he was matched carefully, he could have gotten some bloody wins as an undercard fighter.

In real bouts, Danza & Mario Lopez would have flattened him

Those fights were bought and paid for, S. As for Bob's smoker win over Tony, I don't doubt it, but anyone around the game knows those bouts are a joke, just good-natured fun before dinner.

The big difference between Bob 'n Danza was. Bob wanted to be a fighter, even when he was earning top dollar as an actor, surrounding himself with the best trainers 'n sparring partners.

Tony was a for-real big banger who wanted to be the middleweight champ; only to have his life turned around when he was cast in TAXI.

Clearly, we won't come to a meeting of the minds on this, but it's great to see someone who feels so strongly about the game.

Going by boxrec it sounds like there wasnt a 1st round knockout at all.

Conrad who was 4-0-1 as a professional fighter; retired in 1962. In 1989, Conrad,55, appeared to get the best of former pro fighter/actor Tony Danza in a exhibition boxing match refereed by Richard Steele

As if a ****ing exhibition bout means anything anyway.

Just looking at the photos it appears Danza is having a laugh whereas old Bob is as serious a pig pissing. I'd put no stock in it either way.

Rourke went 6-0-2 (4) and Danza went 9-3 (9). Danza was stopped twice.

Rourke is taller with a longer reach and was a solid SMW. Danza was a solid MW.

I'd lean toward Danza.

I sparred with Rourke a lot. He wasnt very good at all. He had some power when he landed but his technique and ability was pretty piss poor. Never sparred Danza but I heard he was pretty legit. Rourke wasnt even good enough to beat club level fighters.

2 draws that could be losses. Rourke also lies about hsi age and height. Hes really about 5'7 tops.

Conrad's fight career was before he had major success with Wild Wild West. I find it difficult to believe he could arrange the outcomes of professional boxing matches as a struggling actor.

Regarding the fight with Danza, Conrad was 55 years old while Danza was 38, and a lot closer to his fighting career. Danza did come into it taking it lightly, but must have realized early on that red ass Conrad meant business. Still, Conrad was 55, a grandfather. Danza should have been able to adjust and getting avoided getting starched.

Either that... or Robert Conrad was a bad ass.
