Steve "Superbad" Barnes was one, he was extremely young, had been touted as a brilliant new prospect due to his work in the gym.
Had some pretty awful performances and then lost to journeyman Ian Bailey and was never seen or heard of again. Anyone know what happened to him? hes still only 21. ANyone else got an example of guys hyped as prospects only for them to dissapear after a small number of fights? |

6:00 Onwards about Kevin Lear. Lear beat Michael Gomez if you didn't know he went up to Manchester and stopped him. Kid was talented. Eames tells all here..

I'd say Jeff Lacy. Remember him? The bloke who Calzaghe humiliated and ruined.
Before his fight with Joe he was being touted as the next big thing and a future pound for pound king (pretty much what being said about Andre Ward now). The manner of the drubbing Calzaghe gave him absolutely ruined him. Don't think he fought on a major card ever again and he quietly just disappeared. Probably working in library or something now. |
