Omotoso left Murray Thomson as he was going no where & becoming stale.
Thomson also lost his 2 fight cards per year contract with Fox Sports.

Thomson was easily putting on the poorest quality FOX telecasts drawing the smallest ratings apparently & his stable of fighters was shrinking.
The end of Thomson led to Barry Michael & Angelo DiCarlo having FOX dates.
Also Fenech FOX telecasts were no more as Grange took over.
Hyder stopped having FOX dates up on the Central Coast twice a year, instead having Green PPV fights as his only promotions.

Who left who?
From what I understand its not only a story about Murray and Wale but also a story about the fight game. Its was Gus Mercurios last project before he passed away.

tbh the fox cards are more trouble than they are worth, the pay is very little considering overheads and the time spent in getting it put together. The only reason fenech made money from it is because of sponsors, but even then he eventually sold his slots to guys like Hyder for around 10k

I kinda feel sorry for Thomson but then i dont because i think about how he ran the League into the ground after Canavan passed away. What goes around comes around i guess.

This is amazing!

A good news story about a great sport and you get negative posts!!!!

The sport struggles for positive publicity and a good modern day story comes along and all of a sudden we hear from the "doomsdayers" with personal vendettas.(look that up in the dictionary!)

You have just told me in the above posts how hard it is to make money in the sport, well thats because people arent paying to watch the sport anymore and as direct result revenue streams are significantly effected. If revenue streams are effected negatively and the punters arent interested then investment and advertising dollars get turned off, which eventually leads to a down turn in the game. Its simple! Have a look at squash, ten pin bowling and basketball in this country.

So up pops a reasonable advertisment for boxing and you want to knock it back down!

I am sorry I posted this!

Thanks "Spider"!
I hope you're right. Other than the fact it's a story about a good Aussie trainer and a good boxer, it was Gus Mercurios last project before he passed away. The film has been dedicated to him.
