Default Re: Referee - Tony Perez 'I Should Have DQ'd Muhammad Ali'

In 1974,

Tony Perez was regarded as 'weak in the authoritative area'.

Which was just fine with Muhammad Ali.

The book on Tony, 'He takes his time before breaking up clinches, and he never
penalizes boxers for fouls'.

when Chuck Wepner 'repeatedly fouled' Mr. Ali in their Championship Bout.

Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black.
Ali won the case which was tossed out by a US district court judge. Ali also won his legal fees of $200,000.

The the judge found the suit had absolutely no merit.

Perez was pissed off at the slapdown and spent the rest of his career badmouthing Ali.

No story here, folks,

Nothing to see.

Move along...

Another '131', and you'll have accumulated the same amount of
fouls that Mr. Ali committed on Joe Frazier in the Frazier - Ali II bout.

But, if Tony Perez is counting, you'll still have 'Zero' responses.

Pepe,

You’re dealing with McVey. He’s a 60+ year old man with the psyche of an 8 year old who thinks he who posts lasts wins. He’ll never change. I swear once time he replied to a post of mine a 3AM in the UK, and when I laughed, he said he just came back from shooting rabbits in the dark. Such is his MO and need to post last.

Anyway, he won’t acknowledge your points unless it’s an obvious math error, which he makes from time to time. If you press him on a black fighter though objective analysis, he’ll go ad hominem and call you names or a racists.

Anyone with a pair of eyes knows Ali illegally held behind the head enough for a fair minded official to 1 ) issue a warning, and 2 ) dock points.

Let me guess...Foreman was drugged when he fought Ali in 74? Such crap!
Pretty much got it right on target with this one.

Mendoza,,,,,,,,Good Job

Glad you got the scoop on that old man.......

He sounded much younger on the thread.

He still came across like a snot nose kid.

By the way, any Referee with 'cahones' would have DQ'd......Mr. Ali.
