I favor Ruddock by decision, but a stoppage loss is definitely possible.

Im a Tua fan but as a Tua fan i know that against boxers he didn't do aswell unless he gets that one left hook off, Ruddock was a great boxer and his height and punching power would be able to keep Tua off him. Tua had a granite chin aswell though and we saw what happened to Ruddock when he got hit by Morrison but that wasn't a perfect version of Ruddock, i think Ruddock decision

no he was not

he was a power puncher with a weak right hand, poor jab and poor stamina

The thing with Tua is he was never matched up with other sluggers, after Ike. He was going to fight Brewster at one time and pulled out. There were guys like Ruddock around. I wanted to see the Tuaman against Tyson back then. He just never had the matchups that would either catapult him to the elite & a few ko's against other sluggers would have sent his stock price soaring.

And Ruddock himself only faced 4 hitters--old Smith. Tyson.Lewis.Morrison. Pulled out of Vitali fight.

Funny how that era's sluggers did not match with other sluggers. You could throw a Mercer in there. Sanders. Morrison, of course. Tyson had become a slugger. Hide. Lots of slugger names but so very few matches. We should be discussing tactical errors or great wins but we never got them. And heavyweight slugger matches do sell and it was not that hard to reach into a pool of names and extract a few and pay them.

Although they were both probably active around the same time, i feel Ruddocks 'era' was early 90s and Tuas 'era' was late 90s

if any ESB posters are scientists, and you invent the boxing ring time machine that can only pull in two boxers too fight...please dont use it for this fight....we can do better.

but..on that note..i think Tua at his best catches Ruddock at his best.

If he was so bad how come he completely outboxed and pushed around Lennox Lewis a little bit before the olympics?

I wouldn't call him a great boxer. I can't understand the comment saying his jab was weak though.

Almost all of that is false ... so false that he got his nick name "Razor" from his jab so how in the world could it be "poor?"
