I recall he said he thought it was ridiculous that there were so many belts and champions and that he believed there should be only one champion from the moment he lost his strap in a poor effort, he really had nothing else to do than to retire |

He chose to have a short career and denied us the chance of seeing what he could've achieve. After the Klitschko fight, if he had stayed in shape, he could have won another belt. I consider him from the same league as Chagaev, Povetkin, etc. Much better than his brother Timor.

But Tiggy, for all his faults, is still a top 30 HW. He's got grit, the kind that keeps guys like him who are slightly deficient in the skills/power/chin dept in fights. His deficiency would be too mechanical IMO, but he more than makes up for it with his tenacity.

A southpaw silver medalist who could have done a hell of a lot more than he did.
He started off his career using his hand speed and power to be an entertaining brawler who could whack guys out of there. When he struggled with the ordinary Ray Austin due to the fact that Austin was just so much bigger, he switched to a slippery boxing style. If he would have integrated those styles to where he could change it up depending on the opponent, or even make adjustments in the middle of a bout, he would have been something special. But alas, he was tired of figthing long before he quit. I remember even before he won the WBO belt we was talking about finding something else to do with his life. But hey, more power to him, and god bless. |

I was very disappointed when Chagaev pulled out of their fight with an injury, then later when he retired. He could have made a solid career out of his abilities, but who can blame a man for walking away with his health intact and enough money to retire on? I won't be retiring at his age, that's a fact.
I was over the moon when he took Briggs' title. Incidentally, wasn't that the last time an American held a portion of the heavyweight title? It's been quite a while now if it was |

![]() Unless im mistaken hes a recent fighter, theres no mystery or debate over how good he was. His record is there for all to see. He was a middlingly semi capable EE HW who won a paper title in arguably the weakest era in HW boxing history and struggled to beat a 80 year old HW great from a tougher era in Holyfield |
