Jones lost a lot dropping back down.It's just Tarver was never very good and couldn't initially take advantage of his taking rests every round, often against the ropes. |

I echo the sentiment of Charles beating the shit out of Jones. The Charles of the 1st Marciano fight was the opposite of a part-time cop/postman/bum fighting front-running cherry-picker like Jones Jr.

Prime for prime its a good match, but that 2003 version of Jones was in bad shape and had fallen down a very steep cliff fast. Ezzard has to be favored.

To be fair, Charles was well and clear on the slide himself by the time he fought Marciano. I don't think he'd have too easy of a time dealing with even this version of Jones. Still, he should be favored, and by knockout.
