Default Valuev and Manny Steward

I remember hearing in a interview sometime back that said Valuev had said Manny in the early 2000's had tried to contact him with regards to have him come into his gym, I don't know if it ever went ahead but do you think Steward could of turned Valuev into a machine?

There is nothing more to be said, really. Emanuel almost certainly just wanted to have a chance to witness SNV in the gym and have him inspire all of his fighters, see how it's done at the highest level, etc. Remember, Steward's favourite fighter was Hearns, and SNV is like Hearns in a lot of ways, save more durability, power and defence.

I'd really like to find the interview, but Valuev wasn't at his peak around in that time so I'm not sure why Manny would be so interested though.

On a side not here, a question for everyone, what would be the greatest obstacle for Valuev to overcome in adapting to Stewards style?

The fact that SNV is so perfect and so sweet that he doesn't need to adopt anyone's style but his own.

He would have helped him that is for sure. If he could develop a punch with Valuev.

Can you imagine what Dundee would have been able to do with SNV? How the Haye fight could have been turned around by Angie bellowing "Your blowin' it son!"

SNV already had the "pirouette-two handed smash" that did in Monte Barrett. All Steward could add was mere refinement. Maybe he would have taught him to dance more. I would have loved to see the big guy dance more....or maybe develop the "Valuev Shuffle".

That punch was never shown enough with Valuev, I always felt wanting more from him when it just didn't seem enough.

Valuev was about 140 kgs, if he had Stewards training, what would be the lightest you could see Valuev fighting at? He could of gain some more mobility under Manny.
