1 thing I would like to know is which way your hand should as in vertical or horizontal. I was taught to throw the hook with my hand in a vertical positional but it feels faster and stronger horizontally. Which way is correct? Does it really matter?

As long as you land with the knuckle part of the glove it makes little difference. Use which ever way you find more comfortable. |

Keeping it vertical means the opponent is less likely to see it, but at the cost of a bit of power. Old skool trainers taught their fighters to keep it vertical until the last second, and then 'turn it over', thereby landing it in a horizontal position and getting a split second extra snap into it. It's always a compromise between power and telegraphing ur shots. |
